Branscombe Primary School pupils are among the winners of a gardening competition.

Green-fingered youngsters fought off tough competition from seven other schools to win the Environmental Sustainability Shield. Judges were impressed with the school’s ‘African garden’, as well as its use of composting, wood piles and farm dung.

The competition was organised by the Rotary Club of Sidmouth.
