THE funeral of Town Crier Garth Gibson takes place next week - and with a funeral cortege Exmouth has summoned all the pomp and ceremony it can muster.

The public get the chance to honour him at a service on Friday, June 12, at 2pm at Holy Trinity Church, Rolle Road.

But, before that, the public get the chance to pay their respects and line the route of a resplendent funeral cortege, complete with horse-drawn carriage which begins at 1pm.

The cortege will follow a route along the length of Rolle Street and Rolle Road to the roundabout and turn right down Salterton Road to Carlton Slip Roundabout, then continue along the Esplanade past the Pavilion and Clock Tower.
