Police warning after thefts in Exmouth

The police are appealing for help tracing the culprits who stole property from cars parked in Exmouth. Contact the police on 101 with information, quoting the crime reference.

A spate of thefts from vehicles in the Withycombe Raleigh area has prompted the police to warn motorists to secure valuables.

Officers said property worth almost £2,000 was stolen from vehicles parked overnight in Brooklands Road and Denmark Road on Monday, December 12.

Police Community Support Officer Ben Tithecott said: “Could we please remind all car owners to please be mindful when leaving their cars unattended and to please take all valuables with them where possible and to make sure their vehicles are left securely.”

A laptop computer and a CD player with a total value of £700 were stolen from two cars parked in Brooklands Road. Power tools worth almost £1,000, including power drills and an angle grinder, were stolen from a vehicle parked in Denmark Road.

Contact the police about the thefts on 101. Quote crime reference numbers: KE/11/3232 – laptop, KE/11/3240 – CD player, KE/11/3231 – power tools.

The police are keen to hear from anyone with information about the thefts, or from residents who may have seen or heard someone in the area acting suspiciously, or those who may have been offered similar items for sale.
