Police warning after thefts from boats in Exmouth

An increase in thefts from vessels moored in the Exe Estuary, near Shelly Beach, has prompted police to appeal for information.

Police have released details of a series of crimes officers would like help with. Contact police with information, quoting the crime number.

A locked Olympic 460cc boat, with Yamaha F40 AETL outboard engine, was stolen from its mooring between Thursday, July 28, and the following day. Crime number CR/051892/16.

A Bombard AX3 light grey rigid inflatable boat was stolen from a secure rack at Exmouth Sailing Club between Tuesday, July 26, and Wednesday, August 3. Crime reference CR/053439/16.

An attempted theft of a boat on a mooring in the Shelly Beach area between Thursday, July 28, and the following day. Police said the vessel was damaged as a consequence and items onboard stolen. Crime number CR/052144/16.
