FRAUDSTERS carrying out a bank scam have prompted a warning for people in Exmouth to be vigilant.
Police want members of the public to look out for letters being sent to people in the area which claim to be from a Chinese-based banking employee.
The sender states in the letters they have a large sum of money in their bank which belongs to someone who is dead with the same name as the person it has been posted to.
The alleged bank tempts the recipient to enter a fraudulent agreement by posing as the beneficiary to take a 50 per cent cut of the money.

"A number have been sent using different Chinese names but the content of the letter is essentially the same.
