Youngsters spotted playing on fragile garage roofs could be putting their lives at risk, Exmouth police are warning. Parents are being urged to keep an eye on their children.

Littleham police are urging parents to stop youngsters playing on garage roofs in a bid to prevent a tragedy.

Officers at Exmouth said they had received reports children have been risking their lives at Summer Close.

Letters have been delivered to homes locally by the police in their drive to keep youngsters safe.

Police community support officer Malcolm Maguire said: “This practice has to stop for safety reasons as there is a clear sign on the garages warning of a fragile roof that can only be acsessed using crawling boards by trained personnel. Also if the garages are damaged then the young people could be liable to criminal damage.”
