Police warn of counterfeit bank notes in East Devon

FAKE £20 AND £10 note are being passed around in East Devon, the police are warning.

FAKE £20 AND £10 note are being passed around in East Devon, the police are warning.

Devon and Cornwall police say the notes may seem genuine but businesses and members of the public should take care when handling all £20 and £10 notes.

A police spokesman said: "The suspects will either pass them as genuine when attempting to buy goods or services or more recently offenders have approached an unsuspecting member of the public and asked that they change a twenty-pound note for smaller denominations."
