EXMOUTH police ran an operation targeting taxi drivers in Exmouth and the surrounding area.
The operation was run on a Saturday night and saw 30 taxi drivers stopped with three taxis taken off the road for various offences and others given warnings.
The operation involved special police constables, council officials and officers from the Benefit Fraud Department of the Department for Work and Pensions, who are investigating some of the drivers for related offences.
A police spokesman said: “The operation was a success and we will be looking to run further operations in and around the town in the future.”
