Exmouth police are appealing for witnesses after a blue Vauxhall Astra parked in Bicton Street had its rear windscreen smashed.

Officers said the damage was caused sometime between the evening of January 8 and the late afternoon the following day.

Exmouth police are appealing for witnesses after a rock was thrown at a vehicle in Brixington.

Officers said the car’s rear window was smashed while it was parked in Parkside Drove between December 21 and the following day.

Police last week seized cannabis from a home in Brixington after officers carried out a search of a property in Thomas Close.

A gold ring was among jewellery stolen from a burglary carried out at a home in Salterton Road sometime between December 24 and the following day.

The police said the culprit searched a jewellery box before taking several items, including a gold ring with five diamonds across the top, a wooden jewellery box and a round pearl and green stone brooch attached to a gold chain.

Police are keen to trace the culprit who damaged a wooden gate on a property in Salterton Road.

Officers said the double gate suffered criminal damage sometime between 7pm on December 30 and 8.30am the following day.

Drugs were discovered by Exmouth police after officers carried out stop and search duties in Salterton Road at the start of the month.

A man was arrested and charged with being found in possession of cocaine, the police said.

Officers believe the damage could have been caused by a key.

The vehicle was targeted sometime between 5.30pm on Wednesday January 12 and 8am the following day.

A petrol lawnmower was found abandoned in Littleham on Friday January 14, sparking a police attempt to reunite the equipment with its rightful owner.

Officers said the mower was found in Midway and urged residents to check their sheds or outbuildings.

PC Sallyanne Southern said: “This is an expensive lawn mower which we would like to return to its owner as soon as possible.”

The owner will be required to identify the machine at Exmouth police station.
