Police plan crackdown on speeding drivers in Exmouth

PUBLISHED: 10:00 21 November 2016

Police will monitor speeding concerns raised by residents in the Featherbed Lane and Hulham Road areas of Exmouth.

The move comes after complaints were made about antisocial driving. Residents said Featherbed Lane was being used as a cut through, with ‘racing’ vehicles.

A Devon and Cornwall Police spokesperson said a new police community support officer for the area would monitor the situation.

“Residents remain concerned about the speed of traffic along Hulham Road,” said the spokesman.

“In particular, they have highlighted the roundabout at the junction of Pound Lane and Hulham Road.

“Residents in Featherbed Lane report that the road is used as a cut through and that traffic is exceeding the speed limit. There are concerns about perceived ‘racing’ of vehicles.”
