Police investigate alleged assault at Exmouth hotel

Police are investigating an alleged common assault which occurred at a hotel in Exmouth.

The incident is said to have taken place at the Cavendish Hotel in Morton Crescent at around 10pm on Saturday, June 17.

Police say an inebriated man entered the hotel and was asked to leave by staff.

When staff approached him, the man is said to have become verbally abusive and pushed a male member of staff away.

The staff member sustained bruising to his wrists.

The suspect, said to have walked off along the seafront, is described as white, in his mid-20s, wearing a white hoodie and white cap.

Police conducted an area search at the time, but the suspect was not found.
