BUDLEIGH Salterton police are planning an internet session to help anyone having problems accessing the Devon and Cornwall Constabulary website.

BUDLEIGH Salterton police are planning an internet session to help anyone having problems accessing the Devon and Cornwall Constabulary website.

Plans are in the pipeline to hold an informal autumn session at the town's library.

There, the neighbourhood beat team will troubleshoot any problems or difficulties web users may have when they log onto the force website.

The aim of the session is to encourage more people to visit Budleigh Salterton police team's web page, which has a host of information about the town and surrounding villages.

Police community support officer Malcolm Maguire said: "It would be beneficial for us to know if people are viewing it and it would be useful in the future for residents, because they can contact us through the website."

Neighbourhood beat manager PC David Lee said: "It's something we are being encouraged to use by our bosses.

"The public uptake is not that great, but that maybe because people are not aware of it."

As well as local crime news and updates, the website features information about local events and useful contact numbers.
