A 34-year-old illegal immigrant is in custody after the police were called to an Exmouth Indian restaurant last week.
Officers were called to Paradise Dreams, in The Strand, at around 10am last Thursday in relation to a suspected immigration offender.
A UK Border Agency spokesman said: “Immigration checks revealed that the man was a 34-year-old illegal entrant from Bangladesh.
“He remains in UK Border Agency detention while arrangements are made for his removal from the country.”
