THE police last week carried out speed checks on a number of vehicles travelling through Yettington.
Some 53 vehicles were checked with three being recorded as travelling over the legal 30mph limit.
PC David Lea said: "Most of the vehicles were well within the speed limit but this could have been in part due to the recent resurfacing of the road.
