Police are appealing for information after a burglary in the Brixington area of the town this week.

Exmouth police are appealing for witnesses in connection with a burglary.

Officers are asking anyone with information to come forward after a burglary took place at an address in Churchill Road between 8pm on Monday, January 1, and 8am the following morning.

Devon and Cornwall Police believe entry was gained via an insecure door or a dog flap.

A handbag and a laptop was stolen but later found in an area near the property.

A police spokesman has warned residents to be ‘extra vigilant’ and secure their homes at all times.

The spokesman added: “Do not leave keys in a door with a dog/cat flap and consider a way of locking flaps with locking mechanisms. Please share this message with your neighbours.”

Anyone who has information relating to this incident or any CCTV in the area is asked to email 101@dc.police.uk, or ring 101 quoting crime CR/000466/18.

Information can also be passed to Crimestoppers, anonymously, by calling 0800 555 111.
