Police are investigating an alleged assault in Exmouth, described as an unprovoked attack, in which a man was hospitalised.

The incident is said to have occurred just after midnight on Sunday, April 9, in Trefusis Terrace. A Devon and Cornwall Police spokesperson said a man approached the victim’s car and began to kick it.

The victim is then said to have confronted the man, and been punched to the ground before being kicked and punched in the face while on the floor. The victim, who is 61, sustained a cracked jaw and substantial facial bruising in the incident, and received hospital treatment.

Police are looking for the suspect who is described as white, aged around 30, around six feet tall and of very large and muscular build, wearing a white t-shirt, green combat trousers and white trainers.
