Police in Exmouth are appealing for information after a petrol strimmer worth around £200 was stolen from behind a van in the Littleham area.

Officers say the offence took place in the Louisa Terrace area at around 12.30pm on Wednesday, June 14.

PC Ian Schofield said: “At the time, a contract gardener was packing his gear into his van when the Stihl FS 55 two-stroke petrol strimmer was stolen.

“He had left the strimmer outside the back of his van when an unknown man walked up to the van, took the strimmer and then ran to another van and drove off.

“The man was described as white, wearing dark skinny trousers and not wearing a top.

“The van the offender made off in was reported as a white Renault Trafic van with ladders on top.”

Anyone who has information, or has seen anyone acting suspiciously in the area, is asked to email 101@dc.police.uk or by calling 101 quoting CR/038943/17.

Information can also be passed anonymously to Crimestoppers by calling 0800 555 111 or reporting online at www.crimestoppers-uk.org.
