A Devon and Cornwall Police spokesperson said officers were called at 5.45am on Saturday with reports a car had gone into the water.

Police, coastguard officers and a team of divers have all attended the area and carried out searches, which the spokesperson said have so far been negative.

Exmouth RNLI also attended.

Police, who do not believe anyone was in the car when it went into the water, are continuing to review CCTV footage.

Anyone with any information is asked to call police on 101, quoting log number 0166 for November 18.
