Police are appealing for information about a burglary after a handbag was taken from a home in Budleigh Salterton.

Officers say a burglary happened sometime between 10pm on Thursday, June 1, and 10am on Friday, June 2, in Dalditch Lane.

Devon and Cornwall Police said entry was gained through an insecure door and a handbag was stolen which contained a purse with bank and ID cards and cash.

A mobile phone and ‘expensive’ sunglasses were also in the handbag.

Police would like to hear from anyone who saw anything unusual in this area or has been offered goods for sale that they are suspicious of.

A police spokesman added: “Please be mindful that in the approaching warmer months it is still important people keep their doors and windows secured.”

If anyone has any information relating to this incident they should ring 101 quoting CR/043879/17.
