I would like to comment on the report in the February 5 edition of the Journal that the new bowling alley on the seafront is 16 inches taller than the plans issued to the builders. Plans, I always believed, had to be followed fully. If, by the use of a simple tape measure, this proves to be correct, I feel retrospective planning should not be granted. If permission is granted, it may be taken as condoning such situations and, before we know it, windows and doors may be in different places or of different size or shape.Having worked in engineering, I know that, if you alter one part of a drawing or plan, you must alter the other part or nothing will fit or work. Plans are issued to be followed. Eddie Treeby,Flat 5, Execliff House,1 Trefusis Terrace, Exmouth.
