Plan to expand Exmouth cinema supported

A planning application for Exmouth’s town centre cinema to expand into a neighbouring takeaway has been supported by town planners.
The plan is for the entrance of the Savoy Cinema in Rolle Street to be relocated, new signage to be fitted, and a cash machine to be provided.
Members of Exmouth Town Council’s planning committee supported the application in principle, however they raised issues with the proposed cash machine, saying there are already enough in the vicinity, and that one at the cinema would cause queues next to a bus stop, and parking problems with motorists stopping to use the machine.
Councillor Jeff Trail said: “There’s an ATM two away at NatWest, and across the road at Tesco.
“I do not see the need for another ATM.”
East Devon District Council will make the final decision on planning permission.
