Exmouth shows it’s support for Comic Relief 2013

Red Nose Day fever hit Exmouth with a bang when scores of people, young and old, did something funny for money in aid of Comic Relief.

Pupils at schools across Exmouth and beyond got into the spirit of the day with a host of fun-filled activities to raise cash for the worthwhile cause.

Children at St Joseph’s Primary School dressed up as pop stars and sold home-made cakes to raise funds, while Withycombe Primary School pupils held a cake competition as part of their Red Nose Day celebrations.

Cakes galore were sold at Brixington Primary School, when hundreds of mouth-watering home bakes were cooked up by parents to raise funds.

Morning classes at the Cranford Sports Club had an 80’s twist when those attending sported retro workout gear. Members also rowed the equivalent of the River Exe throughout the day.

At Exmouth Community College students held a whole host of fundraising events, including the college’s very own X-Factor talent show.

Costumes and onesies replaced school uniform, there was a cake stall and a Where’s Wally competition – where students had to identify staff members around the site dressed as the book character.

At the end of the day students and staff had raised £2857 for Comic Relief from their Red Nose Day efforts.
