Pet dogs are invited to take part in the 2018 Royal Marines Commando Challenge on Woodbury Common at the weekend.

The organisers of the annual event are holding a dog show on Sunday (October 14) with a host of fun classes.

Exmouth’s Corner House vets, in Withycombe Village Road, is sponsoring the dog show, which is in support of charities Devon Air Ambulance Trust and The Royal Marines Charity.

Caroline Creer, of the Commando Challenge, said: “Last year we noticed many of those taking part in the event brought family, friends and their four-legged family members along with them. That led us to think, why not do something fun for them, too?”

The 10 classes include cutest puppy; most adorable golden-oldie and best rescue. It costs £1 per dog, per class.

Organisers of the challenge, on Saturday and Sunday, have also created an ‘event village’ this year.
