People make Exmouth great
I have just arrived in Exmouth for my 50th year of coming here for my holidays and I must write to say I have never had any regrets.

The people in Exmouth are wonderful people and this is well-known all over Britain - as a holiday resort, it is top class.
I would like to mention people with whom I have lodged, and also skippers I have fished with over the past 50 years. Sadly, most have passed on. These people were all well-known landlords and landladies.
Mr and Mrs Simms, 112 Victoria Road, where I stopped longest; Mr and Mrs Ted Phillips - Ted was known all over for his fun and games; Dido with his wife Maureen (Pilot Man); Dolphin Hotel, many a week spent there and happy times and, last, Mr L Poulter, 98 St Andrews, where I have stayed over several years.
All of them have given a great deal of pleasure to hundreds of visitors and have put Exmouth top of holiday resorts.
Over the years, I have fished with some of the best skippers around in Exmouth. Can anyone remember them? Let's see.

Skipper Ted Lane (Bass Man); Skipper Jack Gibbons (Iron Jack); Skipper George Tupper (sailed from Old Dock); Skipper Roy Knight (sailed from Old Dock); Skipper Dave Newman; Skipper Mat Graham (Water Board); Skipper Hiram Tomas; Dido Bradford and, not forgetting, Mat Graham's son, Kedo.
Sorry to say again, some have passed on. Good wishes to all who are still going.
Exmouth can be proud of all of them for giving Exmouth a good name.
Before I finish, I must say Exmouth in Bloom was wonderful. All the flowers and the work that has gone into it made the town absolutely marvellous.
Thanks once again, Exmouth, for all my memories.
