Exmouth police have been working with Littleham Primary School in a bid to curb congestion

Exmouth police are highlighting pupil safety by urging parents to take care when parking outside Littleham Primary School.

Police Community Support Officer Malcolm Maguire has teamed up with the school in a bid to prevent congestion near the school and Littledown Close during the rush hour.

PCSO Maguire thanked all those who have heeded his safety advice, helping to protect the school children.

He urged drivers dropping children off at the school after the school holidays to be aware their parking habits could cause traffic hazards.

PCSO Maguire said the police team had received ‘numerous’ complaints from residents concerned about haphazard parking.

He said: “We have been working with Littleham school to encourage parents or guardians to look at alternatives to parking outside the school in Littledown Close.

“It is important that area is as congestion free as possible to ensure pupil and staff safety and to respect the needs of the residents living in Littledown Close.

“A big thank you to all those who have participated in making the area less congested.”
