Woodbury Park hotel is on the open market after its owners decide to sell up

Woodbury Park owners Robin and Sue Hawkins have announced their decision to sell the multi-million pound complex.

The couple said they took the ‘difficult decision’ to put Woodbury Park on the open market shortly at the start of May.

Members have been assured it is ‘business as normal’ at the four-star hotel, spa, championship golf course and leisure centre.

The couple said reaching the decision to sell had been ‘emotional’ and asked for privacy while the sale went ahead.

In a statement to members, Robin and Sue Hawkins said: “Robin and I have taken the difficult decision to put Woodbury Park onto the open market later on today.

We personally want to let you all know that it is business as normal and have instructed our management team to continue delivering the standard of service you are accustomed too.

“We have recently invested in a new cutting fleet for the golf courses, an ongoing program to complete the leisure club, an exciting refurbishment of the Atrium Restaurant and soon to start an overhaul of the hotel bedrooms.

“Without doubt we are committed to safeguarding our investment in Woodbury Park and its membership.

“This has been an incredibly hard decision for us to make, semi retirement might be on the horizon, but even if it isn’t we both feel the time is right.

“We value your ongoing support and the friendships we have developed. Reaching this decision has left both of us feeling emotional and we would therefore request some privacy during this transition.”
