An Exmouth chemist has been recognised for its ‘outstanding achievement’, at an awards ceremony.

Lewis Pharmacy, in Exeter Road, was one of 10 to be honoured at the Alphega Pharmacy Regional Awards for the South West and South Wales.

The awards recognise pharmacies that go above and beyond, to support their local communities.

Martyn and Jackie Lewis, who own Lewis Pharmacy, received a trophy and a cheque for £1,000 and were automatically entered into the Alphega Pharmacy National Award.

Business mentor Miles Benstead, who nominated Lewis Pharmacy, said: “Services are at the core of Lewis Pharmacy, which is an exceptional community pharmacy.

“They offer an NHS weight-management service, a locally-commissioned smoking cessation service and, unusually, mole screening and a service for carers in the community.”
