ALL over-60s can swim for free at Exmouth Swimming and Leisure Centre on November 15.

This is part of Leisure East Devon (LED) Swim4Free programme in which various Sundays throughout 2009 have been set aside to provide free swimming to groups including seniors, children, mums, dads or open to all.

There is no need to book and people may simply turn up on the day.

"Our Swim4Free events have proved very popular all year and we're pleased to be offering the over-60s another chance to take a free dip in our pools," said David Pagett, Chief Executive of LED. "Swimming has so many benefits in terms of health and fitness and can also be a very social activity so we hope lots of people take advantage of the event on 15 November. We have another Swim4Free day for children on 13 December and our programme for 2010 will be announced shortly."

For those over-60s who enjoy their free swim and would like to make it more regular, LED is waiving the joining fee for those who take out a membership package on the day - on top of the 20 per cent discount that is now offered as standard for senior citizens.
