REGARDING your article entitled "Plea to MP over ASDA plan". Tesco need competition - the only supermarket is a small Somerfield, which is not much competition for the mighty Tesco. And, of course, ASDA would create more jobs for the area. If we did reject asda, where would the money come from for redevelopment of that area, which is not a nice welcome for rail and bus passengers coming into Exmouth - first impressions count for first-time holidaymakers? All the people who are knocking the asda project have probably not realised that, for a lot of people who use the bus to shop, it will be of benefit with the bus station next to it.
