A 62-year-old Newton Poppleford grandmother-of-seven has lost five stone in weight in a bid to prove her doctor wrong.
Diana Melluish was told by her doctor she was a candidate for diabetes because of her size.
Determined to prove her GP wrong, in February 2008 she joined a slimming club and last month she reached her target weight of 10st 7lb - shedding five stone from her original weight of 15st 10 1/2 lb - size 22 clothing.
She said the weight loss has increased her mobility and she no longer feels out of breath.
