THE man who introduced a pioneering higher education partnership scheme at Bicton College has been awarded an OBE in the New Year s Honours List.

THE man who introduced a pioneering higher education partnership scheme at Bicton College has been awarded an OBE in the New Year's Honours List.

Dr Ian Tunbridge, chief executive of Combined Universities in Cornwall (CUC), and former founding Dean of the University of Plymouth Colleges Faculty (UPC), has been honoured for his services to education.

Dr Tunbridge radically reformed the provision of higher education across the South West,

More than 200 Bicton College students benefit from being able to study University of Plymouth courses at the Bicton campus.

Dr Tunbridge said he was 'delighted' to have been honoured.
