A NEW group for women who wish to keep in touch with friends and colleagues from service days has been set up in Exmouth.

The Wrens Association of Exmouth has held it first meeting at the Police Club.

Zoe Allars, chair person, said it was decided to launch a group in the town because previously there was not an association in the area. The nearest one was Exeter.

Speaking about the first meeting, Zoe said: "There was 21 members who turned up. We are going to be meeting every other month at the Police Club between 7.30pm and 9.30pm.

"It was quite a good turnout. There were lots of familiar faces. We had a good chin-wag and discussed what we will be doing."

"I would like to thank everybody for their support. I hope there is the same amount, if not more at the next meeting (on June 15)
