MONTHS of hard work came to an end when the East Budleigh community shop finally threw open its doors and began trading last week.Although the shop, next to the village hall, is already trading, it will be officially opened on Saturday, October 11, when, at 11am, East Budleigh vicar, the Reverend Janice Cackett, of All Saints' Church, will be joined by local dignitaries, the villagers and local children to cut the ribbon.Shop committee member Councillor Malcolm Florey said the event promises to be a real family affair.He said: "We have had great support from the community."We have invited all our sponsors, suppliers, all our members and bondholders and everyone in the community to attend. "The opening ceremony will be carried out by our vicar, Reverend Janice Cackett, supported by the youngest child from East Budleigh at our school and one of the oldest residents in the village.
