In our search for alternative uses for Rolle College, may I suggest the college become a (global) centre for renewable energy studies.

Rolle has three outstanding qualifications: 1. proximity and exposure to tidal, coastal, solar, wind, crop and geothermal energy; 2. proximity to the Met Office (its resources and talent), and 3. it is a fit-for-purpose site with library, classroom and research facilities.

ROLLE (Renewable Options Looking Learning Experimenting) should also be at the forefront of the government's effort to observe, share and promote 'best practice' on the creation and use of energy to consumers.

The college could re-emerge as an important learning/training centre within Plymouth University, or as the focal point of a government or industrial endeavor.
