Budleigh Lion Geoff Paver has stepped down as president of the organisation after four years.

He has come to the end of his second term as president and will be succeeded by Alan Tilbury.

Geoff will continue as an active member of the Budleigh Salterton Lions Club.

He will remain the chairman of the fundraising committee.

He will also continue in his role as chairman of Gala Week, jointly with Nigel Rowley.

Since Geoff took over as president, the membership of the Lions has increased by two thirds from 15 to 25.

Geoff, who previously served as president with a year’s gap between terms, said: “When I took the presidency, I had a dream – that was that the club grew and prospered.”

Alan, whose vice-president will be Peter Holmes, said: “It’s a fine body of men and the club has reached new heights.”
