Three new East Budleigh parish councillors have taken their seats this week.

Ami Bowsher-Grief, who has been campaigning against excessive speeding along East Budleigh Road, Dr Stan Roberts and Michael Clarke, from the East Budleigh Dogs Forum, were chosen by councillors at a poll at the recent parish council meeting.

The other applicants were Dave Elliott, Sally Miller, Molly Pratt and Kathy Moyle.

It follows the resignation of two councillors, Laurie Adams and Frances Carter, before Christmas and the recent resignation of Rob Withers because of poor health.

Council chairman Steve Baker said: “We have had a very good response and we have had seven applicants.

“It is very encouraging and good for the council and the village that we have had so much interest.”
