PERMISSION to demolish a house in Brixington and build a replacement building has been denied by the district head of planning officer under delegated powers.

The plans regarding St Johns Lodge, on St Johns Road, included demolishing the existing cottage and garage, removing the mobile home and building a replacement single storey building for additional accommodation.

The officer said the application had been refused because it involved building a new house in the open countryside where strict rules apply.
