RESIDENTS visiting the Channel Islands must ensure they have adequate travel insurance from April 1.

All holiday makers to the islands, Guernsey, Jersey, Alderney, Sark and Herm, must now have the proper insurance due to a change in the healthcare arrangements.

The current law, which allowed UK travellers to get a limited number of medical treatments in the Channel Islands free of charge, will end on Tuesday, March 31.
