Opportunity for Budleigh resident to become town councillor

Budleigh Salterton Town Council would like to hear from anyone who is interested in representing the community.

Following the resignation of Darren ‘Harry’ Harrison, the council is looking to co-opt a new member.

The 49-year-old was himself co-opted to the town council following the resignation of former mayor John Shiel in 2012.

Prior to his resignation, Mr Harrison had stood on the council for six years, being part of the planning and community gardens committees.

Earlier this year, he took over the chairmanship of the council’s foreshaws and footpaths committee from deputy mayor Tom Wright.

Anyone who is interested in becoming a town councillor should submit an application in writing with a CV to the town clerk Jo Vanstone, Budleigh Salterton Town Council, Council Offices, Station Road, Budleigh Salterton, EX9 6RJ.

Alternatively, applicants can email clerk@budleighsaltertontowncouncil.gov.uk

The deadline for applications is Wednesday, April 11.
