Young fundraisers from a primary school in Exmouth have received a national award.

The RotaKids club at Marpool Primary School has been awarded the RotaKids Presidential Citation, an award given in recognition of the highest level of achievement. The RotaKids club was started after pupil Erin Bruce and five of her friends from the school wrote to the Rotary Club of Exmouth and District in 2014.

Since December that year the club has raised around £3,500 for various charities, carried out community-based projects including litter picking, and helped with Rotary Club crocus planting in the Exmouth area.

The club has also been involved in international projects including a shoe box campaign and Dictionaries 4 Life for Uganda.
