I am writing in agreement and backing C Goodall in his/her very valid point about ASDA, Newton Abbot (letters, November 13). We, too, shop as they do and have a great day out. Newton Abbot was dying on its feet before ASDA - it had become very scruffy and uncared for. Now it is vibrant with lots of people shopping in all the great shops and the fantastic market. When we were in the market, I spoke to one of the traders about trade now that ASDA is with them - he was very happy with the upbeat trade, as were his fellow traders. They were very pleased with the interest in Newton Abbot. So, wake up Exmouth, ASDA will not blight our estuary, it will be enhanced. We have to think of the Exmouth of the future for the children.Mrs T Precious,15 Bridge Road, Exmouth.
