My dog was ill

PUBLISHED: 10:26 02 December 2011

May I thank the dog walker who regularly dumps quantities of food waste on various parts of the commons.

Yes, I thoroughly enjoyed my dog having sickness and diarrhoea for two days, caused by him eating the chicken bones, raw meat, nuts, fruit and various other bits that someone regularly feeds to “the wildlife”.

Does this person really think it is just the wild animals and birds that eat these leftovers?

If this person views themself as an animal lover, then surely he/she should have some consideration for those dogs that are food orientated and see it as a natural instinct to devour what they can in a free-for-all frenzy.

Can’t this person see the potential harm he/she may cause to our dogs, particularly with the careless discarding of chicken bones?

I am sure he/she is full of good intentions, but, please, have a bit of consideration for others and be aware of the possible consequences of what you are doing.

After all, our domestic pets are not used to eating the same diet as wild ones so will naturally suffer.
