AN Otterton mum has taken over the reins of an unbeaten youth football team - and is looking for new players.

Maggie Seager, 40, has taken over the under 10s Exmouth Amateurs Youth Football Club after successful former coach Steve Reader took the team to victory in the Exeter Youth League two years on the trot.

The team was only formed two years ago but in the two seasons they have remained unbeaten.

And now Maggie is looking for six new players to play two games fortnightly, on Saturday mornings from September 12.

"The trials are on Monday at Amateurs Youth Football Club, and anybody with an interest in football and eager to learn is welcome to join us," she said.

Maggie has now been registered with the Football Association and is taking her level one coaching qualification in September.

"My son plays for the team and there was no one else to take over so I thought 'why not!' she added. "Steve has been a great inspiration to me."

The trials are being held on Monday July 27 2009 at 6pm at Warren View Sports Ground located between Halsdon Avenue and Mudbank Lane in Exmouth.

The season will commence on September 12, with games beginning between 10.15am and 10.30 on Saturday morning.
