Senior managers of First Great Western were at the annual general meeting of the user's group, who work in conjunction with the railway companies to bring a better service and lobby them for station improvements.
The performance director said the company was aiming to obtain more trains by 2010 and improved services during December with extra evening trains and better thorough connections.
The company is looking to improve Sunday services and Network Rail is continuing its track programme to make the line the first branch to be re-laid with continuous welded rail for a smoother ride.
The group ahs had much success in implementing small changes such as sponsorship of station planting schemes, timetable changes and the provision of a taxi rank in Exmouth.
