Scores of job hunters attended at the Glenorchy Work Club fair, with the event being hailed as a success.

The annual event, now in its second year, attracted more than 60 visitors keen to meet local and national employers, trainers and support teams.

Simon Skidmore, work club co-ordinator, said many employers at the event were actively recruiting for staff at all levels.

He said: “With over 60 people visiting, it was a great success.

“Many of the exhibitors have expressed a keen interest in returning for any future events we might hold.”

Simon added: “I would just like to thank everyone who attended on the day, and especially our volunteers, without whom nothing would happen.”

The work club, set up by and held at the United Reformed Church, in Exeter Road, began in 2011 because there was no other support locally.

It is open every Thursday morning, 9.15am until 12.15pm, to anyone looking for work, a change of career, or help with a CV.
