More than 300 people attended Budleigh Salterton Art Clubs’ annual one-day exhibition.

Among the many pieces on display were those created by East Devon artists and many of those were also on sale.

Exhibition organiser, Paul Doughty said: “Our talented artists showed an amazing cross-section of different skills and techniques, highlighting a multiplicity of subjects. These ranged from local coastal scenes and landscapes to silk paintings and portraits.

“We had a great team of people who helped make the event a great success.”

Budding young artists were also invited to have a go at watercolour painting with participants helping by completing a large-scale cartoon drawn by Budleigh-based artist Jed Falby.

Jenny Delahaye’s picture ‘Where is He?’ won the vote for visitors’ favourite painting.

She said: “I was very surprised to get the public vote, but absolutely delighted to win the May Cup.”

Budleigh Salterton Art Club’s ten-day exhibition will be held in the Public Hall between August 18 and 27.
