Members of Raleigh Cricket Club are in high spirits after more than 300 was raised following a fete held in Budleigh Salterton
MORE than 300 was raised for Raleigh Cricket Club thanks to a fete which was held at the Methodist church in Budleigh Salterton.
Nick Loman, president of the cricket club, said around 200 people attended the fete.
“The weather put the dampeners on the day a bit but everyone seemed to enjoy themselves.”
Mr Loman’s wife, Kay, helped make cakes and scones for the occasion.
“It’s good to raise money because it costs so much for balls and other things,” he said.
Mr Loman, of Swains Road, has two sons and three sons-in-law who play for the club, who compete in the Sunday league.
