MEMBERS OF Exmouth Round Table will be instrumental in raising thousands of pounds to benefit the Devon Air Ambulance. The Exmouth members have championed the charity after national president of Round Table Peter Manley announced air ambulances nationwide were to be his chosen charity for the year.As a result of his decision, the Devon Air Ambulance Trust will benefit from the fundraising efforts of Round Table groups from Exmouth and district, the Honiton area and across Devon. As well as the Round Table - an organisation for men aged between 18-45 years old - the fundraising will be further boosted by the whole of the Round Table family including the Ladies' Circle, the Association of Ex-Round Tablers clubs and the organisation for former Circlers, Tangent.President Peter Manley said he aimed to raise 'tens of thousands of pounds' for the air ambulances."There are very few people who haven't heard of air ambulance but many will not know that this crucial life saving service receives no state funding, therefore I am determined that all air ambulances across the UK will be helped by my presidency," said Mr Manley. "Those early minutes of an accident, injury or serious illness can mean the difference between life and death and that is why the air ambulance service is so critical.
