BUDLEIGH Salterton seafront has become a no-cycling zone and anyone caught flouting the law will be fined. The police and district council have put their heads together to come up with a set of new seafront 'no cycling' signs which are now in place from the Raleigh Wall to the Lime Kiln car park.Anyone caught cycling in this area will be issued with a £30 fixed penalty notice.Budleigh Salterton police community support officer Chantalle Major said: "We understand many people like to enjoy the seafront, but it is not suitable for cyclists along there as there are beach huts, toilets and cafes where people can walk out into the path of a cyclist and could be injured in a collision.
