FROM September, Budleigh Salterton will have a new neighbourhood beat manager to police the town.PC Dave Lea has been appointed to step into recently-retired PC Kim Chapman's shoes and the police hope he will start on the beat in early September.Budleigh Salterton mayor Councillor Chris Kitson said: "This is great news and we are pleased the police have made a quick appointment, as they had promised to do, and this demonstrates further their commitment to community policing. "We are grateful to our PCSO Chantalle Major who is doing an excellent job looking after local issues since the retirement of Kim Chapman.
